Programme Note
My first encounter with Miles Davis was through listening to his wonderful and innovative 'Porgy and Bess' album which he recorded in collaboration with Gil Evans in 1958. For me his playing had a unique lyricism, musicality and sensitivity to line that few players have ever equalled. This piece is my tribute to a great musician.
