In the 2012-13 season Staatskapelle Dresden will award Hans Werner Henze with the prestigious title of “Capell-Compositeur” and focus on the composer’s latest works including the youth opera Gisela! as well as the orchestra works Sebastian im Traum and L’heure bleue.

In addition, Deutsche Oper Berlin, an opera house that has produced many world premieres of Henze’s oeuvre throughout the last 60 years, will honour the composer during the coming season. For Deutsche Oper’s centennial anniversary concert on October 20 Mr. Henze will contribute a new orchestral work entitled Ouverture zu einem Theater.
