On April 26 in The Hague, the Dutch premiere of Lanterna, composed by Sebastian Fagerlund takes place. Antony Hermus conducts the Residentie Orkest Den Haag and the Storioni Trio.

Lanterna consists of seven settings for violin, cello, piano and orchestra. This triple concerto starts with the soloists gradually joining the musical landscape created by the orchestra, to later form a soloist trio.

Fagerlund found inspiration for the work and its title in the idea of a lantern at sea:

When you are close to it, you can see it clearly, but when you move away from it, the light starts to change and finally to disappear depending on the weather conditions.

Before Lanterna, Fagerlund composed Remain for the Storioni Trio. The slow movement serves as the concerto's musical core, transitioning from its blurry inception to a transcription in the fifth setting. Beyond this, the composition explores new forms. With Wouter Vossen as the trio’s violinist and also concertmaster of the Residentie Orkest, the Dutch premiere of Lanterna brings together this musical heritage.
